A Control Panel is a web-based user interface using which you can handle various aspects of your world-wide web presence. For example, you could create or edit site files, create and check e-mails, control databases, check visitor statistics and so forth. These things are performed using buttons and menus inside an internet browser and the CP could also be called ‘back office’, i.e. the administration area associated with your hosting account. Most Control Panels these days will permit you to manage all hosting-related matters, but you will normally require a different system to control payments or to get a new domain name when the company offers domain registrations. Depending on the platform they use, you could be able to use the billing account to open a support ticket to ask a question or to resolve an issue too, or you might have to use a third system.
